The Foundation has initiated a long-term commitment to developing new advanced laboratory experiences for the undergraduate physics majors, called ICEP – Integrating Computational and Experimental Physics. In collaboration with both PICUP and ALPhA, the Foundation sponsored a three day workshop in June of 2023 in Buffalo, to develop ICEP materials. The October 2023 issue of APS News (Vol 32 #9) has a long article on the event which is accessible online.
The Foundation is continuing to fund subsequent workshops, the second one in June 2024. It also decided to create a new award to recognize faculty who have created significant ICEP programs.
